Minutes from July meeting:
The minutes were approved as presented.
 
Treasurer’s Report:
Dave NH6SM gave the Treasurer’s Report. Money from the sale of O.J. Watkins’ equipment at Ham Holiday was donated to the club by his widow. With the elimination of the phone bill, there are no more payments to the phone company.
 
CORA Report:
Bill N5NUK gave the CORA report regarding the outcome of Ham Holiday.
 
Other:
Bill N9SQV mentioned he and Ron W5RGT would collect the equipment from the estate of O.J. Watkins to sell at Ham Holiday.

Everyone ponied up their monthly dollar for the Food Pantry collection.
A copy of the article regarding David Box K5MWR and Midwest City was passed around. The article focused on Midwest City’s nuisance ordinance which the ARRL stated was “null and void” because Midwest City had no jurisdiction in those matters.
 
Old Business:
Richard W1WFE was not present to report on contacting Harrah’s city manager regarding a CERT program for Harrah.

The Christmas Dinner has been confirmed and will be held at the American Dixie Diner for Saturday December 4 at 6pm. The info has been sent to the webmaster for posting
 
New Business:
Eric K3UUF will organize a club picnic for the month of September. No date has been set yet. Info about the picnic will be emailed to members.
 
Next meeting would be September 20, 2010.

CORA Report:
Bill N5NUK gave the CORA report regarding Ham Holiday. Everything is on track for the event July 23/24.
 
Other:
Bill N9SQV mentioned he and Ron W5RGT would collect the equipment from the estate of O.J. Watkins to sell at Ham Holiday.

Bill N5NUK mentioned the funeral for John Robbins NO5X would be July 20.
Various Field Day operations around the metro area were discussed.

Richard W1WFE was not present to report on contacting Harrah’s city manager regarding a CERT program for Harrah.
 
New Business:
The Christmas dinner will be held at the American Dixie Diner on Saturday December 4 at 6pm. Eric K3UUF will confirm the date with the diner.

Treasurer’s Report:
Dave NH6SM gave the Treasurer’s Report.
 
Old Business:
Dave WD5G reported the controller receiver has been tested and works so the phone line may be dropped. He stated it’s unknown how far away the receiver can be accessed depending on how far away someone is from it, along with power capability, and antenna being used. At the July meeting he would supply the access frequency to be kept in confidence as well as the control codes. It will require some testing to see if it’s possible to post voice messages using this system. This issue is now a closed item from the minutes.
 
CORA Report:
Bill N5NUK gave the CORA report regarding Ham Holiday. Everything is on track for the event July 23/24.
 
Other:
Everyone ponied up their monthly dollar for the Food Pantry collection.
 
New Business:
The Christmas Dinner issue was tabled until a later date.
 
Field Day is June 26/27. Due to surgery, the Field Day Coordinator will not be able to set up any activities for the event, and members would be participating with other area clubs in their activities. OCAPA has invited CARC to join them, and ACARC has also extended an invitation.
 
Ron W5RGT received an information update notice from the ORSI Frequency Coordinator requesting current repeater information. Bill N5NUK would act on this issue. Ron also had the books on the radios and the controller to pass along. It was suggested to keep them at the repeater site in a ziplock bag for quick and easy access if/when needed.
 
Richard W1WFE contacted the City Manager of Harrah regarding the CERT program. The City Manager is familiar with CERT and is interested in starting a CERT chapter in Harrah. Harrah is getting a new Police Chief and the manager thought it best to wait until he got the new chief on board. Don N5ENQ reported the MWC contact OCAPA is using for their Field Day location is a CERT person, and he would try to have some CERT people visit the OCAPA Field Day in order to find out more about amateur radio.
 
Bill N9SQV mentioned that former member O.J. Watkins, now a Silent Key, had some radio equipment that his wife wants to sell. Bill, along with Walt, and Chuck would be organizing the list of items. Bill wants to sell it at Ham Holiday and needs some assistance.
 
Next meeting would be July 19, 2010.

Treasurer’s Report:
Dave NH6SM gave the Treasurer’s Report.
 
Old Business:
Dave WD5G was not present, but it was reported that he had tested a piece of equipment for the controller and needed to get with Don Clark to get it online in order to eliminate the phone line currently in use for the controller.
 
CORA Report:
Bill N5NUK gave the CORA report regarding Ham Holiday. Eric K3UUF had pre-registration tickets for sale. Everything is on track for the event July 23/24.
 
Other:
Everyone ponied up their monthly dollar for the Food Pantry collection.
 
New Business:
The Christmas Dinner issue was tabled until a later date.
 
Field Day will be June 26/27. Eric K3UUF will be the Coordinator for Field Day. Kevin KD5NRQ will assist. The location will be the park in Choctaw. The portable tent will be used. Bill N5NUK made the point that some of the area clubs are now operating Field Day from an indoor facility for the benefit of air conditioning. A church in Harrah was suggested. A sign-up sheet was passed around for participants and equipment. A decision regarding food will be discussed at the June meeting.

Chuck KC5EZS mentioned member names and photos could be updated on the website. Members are encouraged to email a pic to him. Dave NH6SM will send him a roster of names. Bill N5NUK will send past minutes to be posted.
The CERT training program was raised again. The Harrah City Manager will be contacted to see if they have any interest.
 
Next meeting would be June 21, 2010.

The issue of the controller was touched on but there was no action taken.
 
CORA Report:
Bill N5NUK gave a report regarding Ham Holiday. The flyer should be mailed out around May 1st.
 
Other:
It was noted that Bill K3YC was at a homeowners meeting and that Larry K5VVD had gone to Israel to walk where Jesus had walked. Bill N9SQV commented on Citizen Corps and the classes they have. He already has the training DVD’s. Everyone ponied up their monthly dollar for the Food Pantry.
 
Next meeting would be May 17, 2010.
