Choctaw Amateur Radio Club (CARC) Regular Monthly Meeting was held on January 21, 2002. At the Eastern Oklahoma County Vo-Tech. A quorum was met and business conducted as follows. The Choctaw Amateur Radio Club meeting was called to order by President Chuck Kanach KC5EZS, at 7PM. Followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Secretary recorded members as they arrived so no roll call was taken. There were 18 present, 4 checkins and one guest, Richard May, brought by Don KB5KWV. Net control for the meeting was Bill Tarkington KC5ICR Secretary's Report- The minutes for November were approved as read in the C&E. There were no minutes for the December gathering. Treasurer's Report was given and accepted YL Net- The YL Net was terminated. The YL Net had been on the air for 6 years, minus one week. Web Site- Work in progress. CORA- Don N5ENQ and Bill KC5ICR briefed us on the CORA meeting. Tower-still on hold. VE Testing- The testing session was held with 2 new Tech's, 1 new General and one grandfathered General. Bill N9SQV thanked all who helped. Fox Hunt- on hold till spring. Presidents Comments- President Chuck KC5EZS welcomed all who came to the meeting, and thanked them for keeping him as President. He presented the new officers, Bill Tarkington KC5ICR, as Vice President and Larry Brewer K5VVD as Treasurer. Kay Holzman KB5VJR stayed as Secretary. He reminded those present that the tech meeting will be on the 7th of February at the Vo-Tech at 7 PM. Old Business: Swap Meet-February 23rd OKDXA will be having a program of the latest ARRL info on DX and Contesting, with Coy Day at the Swap Meet. Several members volunteered to advertise the Swap Meet on different nets. The members decided to just have coffee and no donuts at the Swap meet. A motion was made to raise the table fee to $4.00. Motion defeated. New Business: 1. A motion was made to send a mail out to previous members reminding them that dues are due. During the discussion, Don N5ENQ, said he would call first, then the mailing can be sent after the February meeting. The motion passed. 2. In regards to the C&E raising their rates, a motion was made to discontinue the autopatch. After much discussion the motion passed. The phone patch will stay on until a Radio Remote controller is located and hopefully it will be on before the next meeting. 3. Motion was made to table the discussion of raising the club dues. 4. February Coffee will be on the 16th, 9 AM at Roosters Café in Jones. 5. CORA meeting representatives will be Chuck KC5EZS, Bill KC5ICR, Larry K5VVD and Don N5ENQ. 6. OKC Marathon needs APRS operators, Chuck KC5EZS will send out more information as he gets it. 7. ARES is conducting training on Thursday nights at 8 PM on the .82 repeater. 8. Motion was made to get our own domain name. Motion carried 9. OKDXA Jim N5TT mentioned about the Elmer list, and the Okla. QSO party will be March 22nd . HF bands 6 meters and up.
