Choctaw Amateur Radio Club (CARC) Regular Monthly Meeting was held on Oct 20, 2003. At the Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center. A quorum was met and business conducted as follows.
 
The Choctaw Amateur Radio Club meeting was called to order by President Don McDown N5ENQ , at 7PM. Followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The secretary recorded 9 members as they arrived.
 
PRESIDENTS COMMENTS Secretary Kay KB5VJR let everyone know that Tony (SK) WB5PNHs call was received by his grandson Michael in California.
 
SICK REPORT- Dons wife is home from the hospital after having surgery. Bill K5JVDs wife is doing ok, and is Bill K5URMs wife. Al WB5OHKs wife isnt doing any better.
 
SECRETARY'S REPORT- was accepted as read on the web page.
 
TREASURER'S REPORT was given by Pres Don N5ENQ for Larry K5VVD and accepted.
 
CORA- Next meeting will be on Nov. 8th in Norman, or at the Salvation Army Headquarters, check on their web page.
 
TECHNICAL REPORT- A member of ORSI contacted Ron W5RGT with a complaint against the club. It was a cordial conversation with a lot of questions. A few days later the Vice President of ORSI sent a longer letter and requested he fill out the paperwork that was included. He did that. Discussion followed his announcement with Dave WD5G adding to it. Several suggestions were made, and Don N5ENQ, and Ron W5RGT  will check it out either on Tuesday or Wednesday.
        
NICOMA PARK STORM SHELTERS- Some were turned in, but Don N5ENQ forgot to bring another list.
 
TECHNICAL MEETING- Nov 6th given by Ron W5RGT on lightning.
 
COFFEE- The monthly CARC coffee will be at the Choctaw Restaurant at 9:15. It is under new ownership.
 
OLD BUSINESS:
2 M. RADIO- Dave WD5G hasnt gotten it ordered yet.
 
NEW BUSINESS:
ELECTIONS will be held next month.
 
MEETINGS-The school will be closed for our business meetings during the months of Jan, Feb, and Mar. Ron W5RGT suggested we could use the First Baptist Church in Nicoma Park for those meetings.
 
CARC CHRISTMAS PARTY is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 15th at Spencers BBQ
 
Don N5ENQ showed a 6 minute video that ARRL sent, to show the amount of noise that BPL will add to the frequencies. It was very informative.
