Choctaw Amateur Radio Club (CARC) Regular Monthly Meeting was held on November 19, 2001 at the Eastern Oklahoma County Vo-Tech. A quorum was met and business conducted as follows. The Choctaw Amateur Radio Club meeting was called to order by Vice President Don Clark, KB5KWV, at 7PM. Followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Members introduced themselves. There were no guests. Net control for the meeting was Don McDown, N5ENQ. There were no checkins. Reports: Secretary's report- The President wanted amend the minutes to add the vote count for the Dues motion in October's minutes. He wanted it to read - The vote was 6 in favor and 1 against, the Club Officers did not vote. The minutes were accepted as amended. Sick Report- Dave WD5G and his wife Vicki were involved in an accident out of town, luckily no one was seriously injured. And they are both back home safe and sound. Treasurers Report- Treasurers report was given and accepted. YL Net Report- Still going, with a remark that we need more checkins. CORA- Bill N9SQV and Larry K5VVD went to the meeting. They told about the President resigning from the Collector/Emitter. Discussion followed about the meeting. Motion made to support CORA in the raising of price for the Newsletter. Motion passed. VE Testing- Choctaw Amateur Radio Club will have a VE testing session on Jan. 12th Saturday at the Choctaw Community Center, that is just north of NE 23rd St. on Choctaw Road. Old business: Tech discussion group will be discontinued for December and January. It will start back up on the first Thursday of February. Foxhunt is postponed until the spring. Christmas luncheon- It will be at Golden Corral on December 8th at 12:30. Swap meet- It was mentioned that a group might like to join us and share the expense of the room, since the price had jumped up so much. This was put in form of a motion and passed. The Swap meet is set for February 23rd. Nominating Committee- The slate of Officers presented to the group from the Nominating Committee was: President- Chuck Kanach, KC5EZS, Vice President- Bill Tarkington, KC5ICR, Secretary- Kay Holzman, KB5VJR, and Treasurer- Larry Brewer, K5VVD. It was moved to select the slate of officers by acclimation. Passed. New Business: January meeting- The school will be closed for the January meeting, so it was voted on to meet at Spencers BBQ. President Chuck KC5EZS found out that the building would be open and we could meet there. A motion was made to have the meeting back at the school in January. It passed. CORA meeting- Bill N9SQV and Bill KC5ICR will go to the next CORA meeting. December meeting- President Chuck KC5EZS wanted to know if the Christmas luncheon would take the place of the December meeting. A vote was taken and it was decided to let the Christmas luncheon take the place of the December meeting. Meeting adjourned 8:05 PM.
